There's some exciting news from Adobe! They've released a peek of their new advanced color grading feature for Adobe Camera Raw, Lightroom, and Lightroom Classic.

Although no date has been announced for its actual release, we're hoping it's available soon.

It appears that the upgraded version - a color wheel - will replace the original split toning tool/panel. Based on the Lumetri Color panel already found in Adobe's Premiere Pro video editing software, the new Color Grading takes things to a new level. This exciting upgrade brings a feature associated more with video and cinema editing to its pro photography apps.

Split toning allowed you to stylize photos by specifying the color tint of the shadows and highlights. The new Color Grading takes it to the next level by giving you control over tint in mid-tones. With this new color wheel tool, you will be able to adjust the tone in different areas of an image - like you would when grading footage in video editing software. That's a pretty exciting prospect that many photographers have long desired in the software.

Adobe is also introducing a Luminance slider and a new Blending slider.

According to the video where the sneak preview was announced, the company will be releasing more information virtual Adobe Max conference beginning October 20th. We're looking forward to hearing what else they say about this upgrade and certainly look forward to its actual release!
