Winning Photos from the "Shot on iPhone" Competition
From January 22 to February 7, there was a photo contest “Shot on iPhone,” in which anyone could take part. The main condition is to love taking pictures and doing it on the iPhone.
Today, the names of 10 finalists have become known. Photos of the lucky ones will be used in Apple's advertising materials around the world, and the photographers themselves will receive fame and recognition, but no money or medals.
10 best photos of the year according to Apple
An entire panel of eleven judges chose the winners from around the world. Among them was the primary photographer of the White House under President Obama by the name of Peter Souza, and from Apple’s, Phil Schiller was watching.
People from all countries attended the competition. It was necessary just to post a photo on Instagram or Twitter, indicating the hashtag #ShotOniPhone.
Among the winners are not only American citizens. The finals were works from Singapore, Belarus, and Israel. The themes of the photos of the finalists are very different - from colorful urban landscapes to a raccoon looking through a log.
All photos look as if they were made on professional photo equipment. Although they were removed on the iPhone, it seems that it wasn’t enough without Photoshop. What do you think?
The contest "Filmed on the iPhone" takes place every year. Apple does not encourage winners with cash prizes, but specifies the authorship of the picture, using it in their advertising campaigns.
Next year there will be new iPhones and new competition, so do not forget to take part in it. All photos of the finalists in 2019 in high resolution can be viewed and downloaded on the Apple website in a special section.
