A Look at the Very Worthy Lightroom Online Portal
Lightroom's online portal (lightroom.adobe.com) offers users easy access to its many features, including the ability to edit, find, and curate their photos from any device with access to the Internet.
If you haven't tried it or haven't been there recently, it's an excellent time to explore the online experience. For Lightroom Classic users who sync their catalogs, it's probably the most comfortable Lightroom product to access.
What to know about the online portal
Home: The Home button jumps you to the section where interactive edits shared by other Lightroom users are visible. The Home button also gives you access to your albums, imports, and any recent edits.
Discover: The Discover button gives you access to inspirational edits. You can browse by subject matter or scroll through any featured and recent editions by clicking on it.
Learn: Click on the Learn button to browse through the Guided Tutorials to learn from more experienced photographers right on the web. You can navigate by tool, topic, or subject matter. It can pay off to check in here every so often as new tutorials are added.
Content: Once inside the portal, you can easily perform several functions that include basic edits to images, edit or create new albums, and share items with others straight from the browser.
Access: To access the online portal, log in to lightroom.adobe.com using your regular Adobe ID subscription. Inside the portal:
You can access your synced photos, folders, and albums.
Rate your images with a 1 to a 5-star rating.
Flag images.
Identify people in your images.
Use the Adobe Sensei search function to search your synced images rather than doing keyword searches.
You can also manage and create shared albums and galleries.
You can restore any files deleted from any Lightroom cloud apps.
Quick Edits
The portal allows you to make some basic edits to an image through access to some of Lightroom's editing tools. Just double click on the image to jump to the Loupe view.
Click the Edit icon to open editing tools.
You can now make edits or adjust previous revisions.
You can then share edits through Lightroom's new "Share Your Edit," a Beta function. (These edits are then visible on your profile page.)
You can collaborate by inviting others to view, download, or add photos on the web or in Lightroom.
You can control the privacy of your images.
Summing-up
We think it's worth a bit of your time to explore the Lightroom online portal. As you can see, some of its features are handy and easily accessed through the portal. This web feature has become a welcome extension of Lightroom's products.
